From Rainforest Rescue: The Daintree has reached a restoration crossroads

Can you remember what you were doing on 18th August this year? Although you may not have realised it, local history was quietly being made in the Wet Tropics amongst a cleared strip of weeds and withered sugar cane shoots.

Nursery production workshop

The workshop, held at the Nintiringanyi Cultural Training Centre in Gimuy in August, brought together more than 50 participants from across the Wet Tropics restoration community to discuss all aspects of seedling production. We’d like to thank everyone who came along, the collaborative atmosphere was fantastic, and the day was highly productive.

Restoring lowland forest and mangroves workshop and field trip

In September, more than 50 participants joined the Restoration Alliance for a workshop and field trip exploring inspiring restoration work led by Cairns Airport and Cairns Regional Council.
