Expression of Interest
Wet Tropics Restoration Alliance Steering Group
The Wet Tropics Restoration Alliance (the Alliance) is inviting expressions of interest from passionate, skilled individuals to join its Alliance Steering Group (ASG). We are seeking 5–7 Alliance members who bring diverse skills, experiences, and perspectives to help guide and support the Alliance’s work across the Wet Tropics region.
The ASG’s primary role is to provide guidance and oversight to the Restoration Alliance Coordination Team (Coordinator and Support Officer) as it delivers the member-endorsed annual workplan, and to offer advice on emerging issues or opportunities relevant to the Alliance.
The ASG will be skills-based, drawn from within the Alliance membership, and will reflect diversity in gender, culture, professional background, and location, reflecting the broad range of interests involved in ecological restoration and stewardship across the Wet Tropics region.
About the Wet Tropics Restoration Alliance
The Alliance is a coalition of organisations and individuals with the shared goal of ensuring the survival of the Wet Tropics of Queensland forests amidst this changing and unstable climate. Our aim is to upscale restoration in the region whilst supporting a resilient green economy to protect the region’s natural assets. Some key objectives of the Alliance are to:

foster knowledge sharing, capacity building, and networking

include First Nations peoples, strategies and knowledge

help coordinate efforts to protect, connect, and restore healthy landscapes
-
recognise and support different restoration methods that may suit different people and purposes in different environments
-
identify and collectively address knowledge gaps in restoration science
-
raise awareness with new investment opportunities (including new markets).

Submit your EOI, along with a copy of your CV, by 10:00 am, Monday 19 May 2025 to: restoration@wtma.qld.gov.au
EOIs will be reviewed by an independent selection committee. Successful applicants will be invited to join the ASG, with the first meeting scheduled for September 2025.
